Mommy & Me

The day I have been dreading and looking forward to is quickly approaching.  Over the past three years I have had moments where I couldn't bear the thought of leaving my baby and a few where I wished I could go to work. Now that she is really ready for pre-school and I have a job it makes me a little sad. It's truly unfortunate that all mothers can't stay at home with their babies (if they want to).  I always planned on going back to work right after Addison was born, but I'm so thankful that God had another plan for me. Money was tight, patience was tested, and adult conversation sometimes limited but I can't imagine anything better than spending the last three years watching our little girl grow. I'm so thankful to my wonderful husband who worked his tail off to support us and family who helped out when needed, but more than anything I'm thankful that God made sure there wasn't a job for me at Lake Travis.  No amount of money or "job experience" can replace the time and the memories we made together.  Now when I'm working until I'm 80, to make up for all this time off I may feel differently, but I doubt it.   If there is one thing life has taught me in the last few years, life is short and unfair, and at any moment it can all be taken from you.  So in this last week of "Mommy and Me Time" I'm gonna spoil this kid rotten!

Summertime

We have been pretty busy this summer.  Getting unpacked and settled, a beach trip, a few trips back home (the drive is killer), my mom was up for a visit, keeping this kid entertained, Ryan works half days at the field house at least 3 days a week, and all my projects around the house! I am almost finished with Addi's bathroom...she wanted purple...I compromised with grey and purple...I love it so far, just have to put the finishing touches.  Then it is off to our bathroom...ugh, gotta cover up the butter yellow walls and super high ceilings! Why oh why did they paint this bathroom yellow?!! Did I mention how much I hate to paint...it always seems like a good idea until about 30 minutes in.  I want to get as many things crossed off my list as possible...I really want to go back to work soon...and I know once that happens most of this stuff with never get done! I'm so excited about going back to work...I still don't know what I want to do...but I just feel ready to go back.  3 years ago I never would have thought this day would come, I do enjoy my time with Addison.  I know she's ready for pre-school, she loves playing with other kids and she's already asked me if she could get a back pack to take to school everyday! JOB...gotta find a J-O-B...thanks to Mr. Obama it is proving to be more challenging than I thought it would.  I have faith that something great will come up soon.  I am exactly where I am meant to be.

Red White & Blue

  Happy 4th of July!

It had been about a week (haha) since I took pictures of Addison so I forced my loving husband and sweet American baby girl to go on a picture taking adventure.  We found this amazing historical park just a few minutes from our house.  It has this beautiful old church (that the rent out for weddings) and a few other buildings that they rent out for events/pictures all on this lake.  Needless to say it's a photographer's dream! I didn't even use all the cool pic spots because I'm saving them! It really is a beautiful place, can't wait to hang out there with my little family.

God Bless the USA!
