1 smart girl & 1 hungry caterpillar

Woohoo two posts in one week! Despite the fact that my daughter isn't sleeping well at night, I can't make myself go to bed early. So once she goes to bed I try to catch up on the things that "I" want to do.

Anyway, one of my many projects today was getting things together for Easter. I put out the decorations, stuffed the "eggs"... and by eggs I mean the toilet paper rolls covered in tissue paper. You see, my mom informed me that we were supposed to boycott plastic easter eggs because they are all made in China. I have also received multiple emails about our (America) dependence on other countries for our goods. Honestly, I have never thought too much about it. I go to the store and I buy what I need, I don't read the labels. However, with our current economy and so many people out of work it really does make sense to BUY AMERICAN and save or create jobs here in America. I mean really, I thought we were the world's super power and yet we are sending all of our money to other countries. Okay, I will stop my political rant. Long story short... I am taking the NO CHINESE EGGS thing seriously. To be honest I like my "rolls" better. They hold more candy and they look like giant pieces of colorful candy. I think the kids will love them too...plus I bought good candy and prizes!

I know I had a point here.... um, yes, so I was getting Addison's Easter basket filled up with all the crap I have been buying for the last 2 months. The basket was full and then I found a book I had bought to give her for Easter (The Hungry Caterpillar) so I just gave it to her today. I love that book and she was ecstatic to get it. Of course I think I read it to her a dozen times and I know Ryan was forced to read it to her at least once when he got home. I had to share some video I got of her with that book. She is so silly and smart.

A long day...

Addison has been sick for a few days now. It started as a cough and runny nose and turned into 103 degree fever. Luckily, I was able to get her into the doctor and get some antibiotics. The fever has stopped but she is still congested and fussy. Last night she was up all night whinning and fussing (when the light/tv was off) I think she was having nightmares or something. Needless to say our day got off to a bad start and only got worse. I am not sure if it's the TERRIBLE TWO'S or if she just doesn't feel good, but she was the worst she has ever been today! I was so ready for Ryan to get home from work and give me a break from this whinny butt! Of course she straightened up when he got home (they are laying in the bed watching "T" right now) and giving me a break from 'mommyhood'. I am so thankful for Ryan being such a great dad... it makes my life so much easier.

Anyway, today was just a bad day all around. The weather was dreary and I have been thinking about my miscarriage a lot in the last two days. We would have found out the sex of the baby this week. I was hoping to find out before Friday so we could go to Canton and buy lots of baby girl/boy things. Thinking about that makes me feel blah... I am already annoyed because it seems like everybody I know/see is pregnant. I don't like pregnant people...my friend Candice is the only exception to that. She has wanted a baby for a long time and we are so happy for our friends. Anyway, someone told me that when they had a miscarriage they were angry. See I was sad, but apparently I have moved into the anger phase of my grieving! It makes me angry when I see people having their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th child...I mean really...I would just like to have 2 for now. So anyway, my anger has made me just avoid pregnant people for the time being. I'm happy your happy that you are pregnant...but I'm not happy! That's my attitude...it's not the right way to be, but that's how I feel right now.

So anyway, I am hoping for a good night's sleep, better weather, and a better attitude tomorrow. Afterall, I am making CUPCAKES with my favorite girl tomorrow...surely that will put me in a better mood. Tomorrow has to be better than today... today was just blah...

GIG 'EM or HOOK 'EM?

Last week, by pure coincidence, Addison and her MiMi were wearing their rival colors! Of course I had to get a picture. I have to admit I root for both teams these days :)

Sure do love these two

The cowgirl Addison enjoying her very first livestock show today. She was so excited to wear her "towboy" boots and see the "moo tows"... as you can read she is having problems with her 'c' sound! She is obsessed with animals, especially cows. I was less than thrilled... I grew out of my "cowgirl" phase many years ago! All cows and chickens look alike... and dirt... yuck!

Addison and I have been at my Mom and Dads since Sunday. We had a memorial/gathering for my friend Chase on Sunday and I have been busy at work all week. I love my Momma and I love my job
but I am sooo ready to be at my home with my husband and my stuff! I hope we can have a relaxing week at home, but that never happens! I can't sit still very long and I have too many projects to do. I can vaguely remember a time (prior to motherhood) when I actually had "free" time.

Just tonight when I was putting Addi to bed... we said our prayers and as I was leaving the room I said,"I love you Addi (like I always do) and tonight (for the first time) she said, "I love you Mommy". In two seconds she melted my heart, my sweet little baby is growing up into a sweet little girl.

It's not what you have...it's who you have...

Addison talking on the phone @ Maw Maw's

I am sick... I am not a good sick person... my husband is not a good sick person. He gets whiny and helpless and I just can't stand to sit/lay still very long. I can only sleep so much, I can only watch so much tv! I don't understand how people can spend their days doing nothing, it makes me nuts. So I spent my day in bed researching new craft projects...very dangerous... and making hair bows/flowers for Miss Addison. I forsee an expensive trip to Hobby Lobby when the strep throat is gone.

I am so thankful for my mom and dad who came pick Addison up late last night (after a visit to the after hours clinic). I felt so bad, I was afraid I had the flu... thankful (I think) it's just strep. Anyway, I knew I couldn't take care of Addison! I don't know what I would do without my parents and grandparents. I can't imagine what it's like for people who don't have family to help them with their children. I am very blessed to have wonderful people in my life, and my daughter's life. Anyway, I hope I am feeling better tomorrow... I want to go get my girl :)
I am thankful for WHO I have... Not WHAT I have

Getting ready for SpRinG!!!

Addison and Uncle Matt... she loves Matt!

I took some pictures of our little flower (inside her very own flower pot) the other day. I will share them soon, I think they may go on our Easter card this year. I took this picture while we were swinging after our photo shoot. She's sooo darn cute sometimes! I had to pry her out of that swing, she loves to swing.
This past week I was home to work and Addison spent some time with her Maw Maw and Paw Paw. She LOVES spending time with her Maw Maw and Paw Paw! This week they went to London's baseball games, Victoria's basketball game, went fishing, went to the park, and went through the pasture looking for cow poop. Laugh all you want... she has a new obsession with "cow poo poop". Everytime she sees dirt now, she thinks it's "cow poo poop".
Today we went to Wimberly to market days to do a little shopping. MiMi showed up on our doorstep with donuts... as soon as Addison saw the white paper bag she said,"MiMi...DONUTS!" I swear we don't eat donuts that often... how in the heck does she know a white paper bag equals donuts! The weather was ok, but a little chilly and breezy. Addison was good for about 45 minutes, but then she was tired of her wagon and being held! After a few hours MiMi and myself were pooped. Anyway, we got some cute stuff and had a great girls day out. It's nice to get out of the house, since Ryan works ALL THE TIME, and my mom is such a big help with Addi.
Oh well, another day down... lots of projects on my TO DO LIST! I think I will do the fun stuff first and save the cleaning and laundry for last.
