Bed Bugs Bite

The last few weeks have been busy for us. Ryan's JV team finished their season, but the varsity made the playoffs... so Ryan's absence from our lives continues! Oh, did I mention spring football has started already too. The life of a coach... the work NEVER ends! I have been busy doing permanent makeup every other week and getting ready for Easter (check), Candice's baby shower (check), Mother's Day, and Addison's 2nd birthday party. Easter was wonderful. Addison had 3 egg hunts and got lots of great gifts! Easter candy should last us until Halloween! Church was good and a much needed reminder of the reason for Easter. I have to admit, I have fallen behind on Mother's Day! I better get ready, time is running out (as usual). It never ceases to amaze me...I don't have a full time job...I should get everything done and have free time, right?! Oh well, Addison keeps me busy and I "create" lots of unnecessary work for myself too. Everyday I say "tomorrow I am going to take it easy and relax" and it never happens! There is always something that needs to be done, bought, fixed, or updated. I guess it's just my personality, I can't relax when I know there are things to be done. That is one of the ways that Ryan and I are so much alike.
Speaking of Ryan... he really is the best. My birthday was Monday and he cooked an excellent supper (and cleaned up) on Sunday night. Addison was on her best behavior on my birthday! I got lots of hugs and kisses and I heard Addison's version of "Happy Birthday" too many times to count. Then "aunt" Katie (the best sister-in-law ever) watched Addison Monday night so we could go out to dinner. They pampered me with lots of cards, gifts, and birthday cake. It's nice to have a family that cares so much about me. I am looking forward to Ryan having some time off (a few weeks) this summer so we can hang out as a family.
Addison is getting much more talkative. In the last few weeks she has been blurting out more full sentences, that people other than Ryan and I can understand! She's my daughter and I have to love her, but she really is a character. It makes me happy that she is so cute and entertaining to others. I was worried that because I stayed home with her that she would be quiet and shy...I don't worry about that anymore! This past weekend we had Candice's baby shower (yay! baby Avery's coming) and Addison spent the afternoon/evening entertaining the crowd.
Addi has lots of little sayings that make us smile, but here are some of my favorite:
- "happy to see you"... she says this all the time when she sees someone or something
- "abre"....(not sure on my spelling) but she doesn't say 'open' in english she says it in spanish! Thank you Dora the Explorer!
-"delicioso"... she saves this one for only the best food!
- "no ma'm"... when I tell her to do something she doesn't want to do... at least she has manners
- "no welly"... Ryan says "whoa nelly"... she gets it backward almost every time!
- "lobe you mommy"... my personal favorite

She still acts like a puppy dog more than I would like, but she does it for attention and because Hitch and Harley are her 'siblings'. She is still obsessed with cows, baby calfs, and bulls! Oh and the obsession has moved to MiMi's new puppies...the "brown puppy" in particular. Unfortunately, she is still a climber and now she pushes chairs around to get what she wants! On a good note, she is more affectionate, lots of hugs and kisses for everyone. Just tonight she was playing with all her baby dolls, and when it was time for bed she took them to her room and covered them up and said "night, sleep tight, bug bite". Seriously, could she be any cuter or smarter?! Yeah, I am being one of those moms right now. I am good mom, one of the few things I am sure of, and bragging on your kids is what good mom's are supposed to do!

Thankful for my little family and all of our blessings,
Addison's Mom
